Why do you think people get satisfaction from cynacism, arguing + fighting about their beliefs about religion?

they think if they dont defend their religion (or beliefs in the case of those without religion) then it will die!! Oh how ironic for those who think their way is the only way and right way.... Or at least that is my view from watching people bicker about their ways vs. someone elses ways.
