Who uses invisible fencing for your dog?

We are moving into a new home that does not have a fenced backyard. My husband has suggested an invisible fence system with a collar. I would like to know a good brand or any complaints about the systems available. I know nothing of these devices nor if they are really dependable. My dog is a very nose driven beagle. He will come home if he gets out, but I am so afraid he may get hit by a car. Any suggestions are appreciated. Please no negative/rude comments!
