Should I get a new Sprint phone, or see if some other company will give me a better deal?

I have a while left on my cell phone contract, the early termination fee is $150, my phone is fried, it'll be at least $115 to get a decent new phone as I only have $75 credit towards a new phone. I've been a Sprint customer for quite a while, and I'm feeling screwed. I've never purchased a new phone, just got a 2nd hand one from a friend when he left Sprint... yet getting the new(er) phone put me in a new contract and took away credit for a new phone. Sprint deals are shady once you're locked in. Is there another cell phone company that will give me a new phone for free and make it worth my while to join them by compensating for the $150 early termination fee? Is there any way to get Sprint to realize I've never used any of their credits or what-not and shouldn't be penalized for getting a 2nd hand phone... and offer me some kind of better deal?
